Bolloré Thin Papers enters into Biodiversity Assessment

Thanks to the Audit Biodiversité® (Biodiversity Audit) currently carried out by Gondwana and PwC, Bolloré Thin Papers will know the biodiversity profile of the Papeteries du Léman and will be able to develop and implement a targeted action plan.

Since the earth summit in rio de Janeiro in 1992, and the signing of the Agreement on biological diversity, reducing the loss of biodiversity is a focused objective of international meetings and is implemented in national strategies. within the framework of its policy of sustainable development, biodiversity is a major issue for Bolloré Thin Papers. Thanks to the Audit Biodiversité® (Biodiversity Audit) currently carried out by Gondwana and PwC, Bolloré Thin Papers will know the biodiversity profile of the Papeteries du Léman based on three criteria: the aspect and proximity of the site as regards biodiversity, the disruption of the site’s activity on biodiversity and the site’s dependence on ecological services. The risks and opportunities will also be analysed. After this assessment, Bolloré Thin Papers will have a clear vision of its links with biodiversity and will be able to develop and implement an action plan to reduce its impact and develop opportunities. The results of the assessment will be available in the first quarter of 2012. Like the LCA - Life Cycle Assessment in 2008, this method is a global first in the thin paper sector.
