The environmental footprint simulator as a decision making tool
In order to guide you towards better environmental choices by using environmentally friendly paper, Bolloré Thin Papers have designed an exclusive tool: developed in 2008, our simulator uses the results of Life Cycle Assessments for twelve qualities of papers (61 grammages). It is certified by PricewaterhouseCoopers and has been validated by a panel of experts (WWF France, CTP - Centre Technique du Papier, independent consultant in LCA).
This simulator calculates the maximum potential impacts of a publication or a tonnage during its entire life cycle, from the extraction of raw materials to their treatment at the end of their life.
There are several aims to this simulator:
- Assessment of the environmental impacts of a publication
- Comparison of the impacts of two printed publications on different quality paper, at identical or different grammages
- Comparison of the impacts of one printed publication on paper of a given quality, in different grammages
- Analysis of the impacts of a publication depending on the evolution of the product mix over several years
